BEAUTY, HEALTH and FASHION is my passion!!

I was a beauty and spa therapist for 20 years, and thought for many years that salon skincare products are the best for your skin. But in times when short on cash, I used cheap over the counter products. I was under the impression that the natural skincare products you buy at health shops were just a mix of aquas cream and nice smelling oils and that they weren't containing active ingredients that bring results...but I was wrong.

After researching natural skin products, I discovered that they are also formulated with ACTIVE INGREDIENTS such as hyuloronic acid, Vitamin C etc. That's where I started developing an interest in developing my own products. I wanted to create lab-made, NATURAL, HEALTHY skincare solutions, that deliver effective, visible and clinically proven RESULTS.

With my background in the industry, I could contribute to a more healthy, ethical, eco-friendly society.

Our products are 100% NATURAL and plant-based. They are free from harmful toxins, parabens, synthetic fragrances, chemicals and unnatural preservatives - making it safe and environmentally friendly. 

After questioning the whole beauty industry, I decided to no longer put anything IN and ON my body that includes loads of toxins. Show your skin some love!!

SIMPLICITY AND PURITY are my hallmarks. I design formulations that are as PURE and as ''CLEAN'' as possible, while being well-formulated and still being able to deliver nutritional value to the skin. I'm specifically interested in help treating PROBLEM OR AGED SKIN, without the use of harmful chemicals. And we help you nourish and care for your BODY as well with pampering home products!

My products also had to be AFFORDABLE! You don't need a pricy product to care the best for your appearance. Why not use cheaper alternatives that are more natural, and can do the same thing? 

BEAUTY ENCOMPASSES THE WHOLE YOU - BODY, MIND AND SOUL. Chronic pain makes you feel ugly, for example. That's why you should never take your health for granted. You only learn to appreciate it once you lose it. And what better way is there to manage pain and treat health problems than holistic natural methods.

BEYOND BEAUTIFUL takes you beneath the surface of your skin to consider how to feed and really care for your body. We provide HEALTHY FOODS, NATURAL REMEDIES, and easy-to-read LIFESTYLE E-BOOKS (some completely free).

A passion to help and motivate others to live healthier lives, or at least make the best of themselves or their circumstances, led me to the idea of COACHING others. I could help others to improve their lifestyle through my lifestyle coaching.

MY STORY

Just a little bit about myself to make you understand why I created this page...

I live in Cape Town, South Africa.

My background was mostly in BEAUTY AND CLOTHING, with BEAUTY AND SPA THERAPY my career path for around 20 years.

I was passionate about life and full of vitality, and always on the go! But I had a lot of issues (like most of us do). 

I was also in a traumatic marriage. 

But, all this didn’t prepare me for what was lying ahead...

In 2012, my biggest issue (ever since) appeared, when I broke my neck in a traumatic car accident. A car crashed into mine from behind on a major highway in Cape Town. Then... more issues came up! I was paralyzed overnight and had to learn to walk, eat, write, brushing teeth plus a bunch of other things… all over, from scratch, again. (This I can write a whole book about…) And it was while enduring tremendous pain, that only would be dulled after swallowing heavy medication. 

But through God's grace, I was able to walk again and go on with my life... although everything changed from there...

I was suddenly a so-called “walking quad” (meaning a prior quadriplegic, who was paralyzed, in a wheelchair, and learnt to walk again...) 

Most people didn’t even notice my pain or the severe (almost “ageing”) stiffness that I had picked up right after my injury - caused by the damaged nerves. 

Because of a back or right hand that was left weak, half paralyzed or in a regular stiff spasm due to the accident, I had to leave my career in beauty and spa therapy immediately (which I loved and never planned of leaving).

This wouldn't stop me and I decided to CHOOSE ''LIFE''. I dug some buried talents up and chose to CONTINUE WITH BEAUTY AND HEALTH, only now, by WRITING about it and INSPIRING others, in the same boat or not. I started writing STYLE Blogs for myafrikaans.com andWEDDING Blogs for an Australian company, whenfreddiemetlilly.com.au. Then I joined voelgoed.co.za (Finesse Magazine) with HEALTH & BEAUTY or HEALTHY LIFESTYLE blogs, also taking people with me on my road to recovery.

I am still a chronic pain sufferer with constant pain and stiffness. (This can be a plus or a minus…people comment, I “look good” (which is great), but then they aren’t aware of my internal struggles). I am still on loads of pain meds, which I have to take, just to get through every day. Pretending you have self confidence at all times is really hard when you don't feel that great. 

Pretending I'm the same person as before, day after day, becomes exhausting!! :) 

But with JOY, I believe that all of this keeps me humble and dependent on my faith, which now even became stronger and carried me through everything (don't know how people do this without God).

This website is my Happy Place, where my attention is directed away from my pain and disabilities to what I'm really passionate about.

I try to KEEP HEALTHY through EXERCISE and GOOD FOODS, and PRESENTABLE-LOOKING enough whenever I leave home. HEALTH AND BEAUTY has been my career path - after all!

A website full of HEALTHY, BEAUTIFUL STUFF and INSPIRATION became my new calling. Having to make the most of my own circumstances led me to learn the essential skills to help others lead positive, fulfilled, well-rounded, happier, healthier...more BEAUTIFUL lives!
